Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of QRecode, operated from the United Kingdom and accessible at qrecode.com. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms.
1. About QRecode
QRecode is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that allows you to create, customise, and track QR codes, build hosted landing pages, and view scan analytics.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use QRecode. By creating an account you confirm this requirement is met and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your account
Registration. You must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
Google Sign-In. You may register using your Google account. Doing so authorises us to receive your name and email address from Google. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.
Security. Notify us immediately at support@qrecode.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised access where that access results from your failure to keep credentials secure.
4. Free trial and paid plans
Free trial. New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access. No payment details are required. After the trial, your account is restricted — QR codes continue to redirect for anyone who scans them, but dashboard access requires a paid plan.
Paid plans. We offer monthly subscription plans (Pro and Business). Prices are shown on our pricing page and are quoted in GBP inclusive of any applicable VAT.
Billing. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Square. By subscribing, you authorise recurring monthly charges until you cancel.
Cancellation. Cancel any time from Account Settings. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. No partial-month refunds are provided unless required by law.
Refunds. If you are unsatisfied within 14 days of your first paid payment, contact support@qrecode.com for a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer protection law.
Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change by email. If you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use QRecode to:
- Create QR codes linking to illegal content, malware, phishing sites, or content infringing third-party intellectual property
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or deceive others
- Distribute spam or unsolicited commercial communications
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account
- Use automated tools to scrape or excessively load our platform without written permission
- Resell or sublicense QRecode without written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund where the breach is serious.
6. QR codes and landing pages
Your content. You are solely responsible for the destinations your QR codes point to and the content of landing pages you create. We do not review or endorse QR code destinations.
Codes never expire. Even after your trial expires or subscription is cancelled, QR codes you created continue to redirect for anyone who scans them. This is a core commitment.
Landing pages. Hosted landing pages (paid feature) remain accessible while your subscription is active. They may become inaccessible if your account is cancelled or suspended.
Removal. We reserve the right to deactivate any QR code or landing page that violates these Terms or applicable law.
7. Intellectual property
Your content. You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you create through QRecode. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service.
Our platform. QRecode, including its software, design, trademarks, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works without our written permission.
8. Scan data and analytics
When someone scans your QR code we collect anonymised scan data including approximate location, device type, browser, and time of scan. IP addresses are hashed before storage. This data is available to you through your analytics dashboard. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:
- QRecode is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses including loss of profits, revenue, or data
- Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, you should cancel before the changes take effect.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if required by law. On termination, your right to use QRecode ceases.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
